Vall de Pop (Jalon Valley): nine villages, each with its own culture.

If you drive into the interior from the coast, you will experience in 10-15 minutes a totally different environment. This green valley full of vineyards, almond trees, orange trees and surrounded by mountains, is known as the Vall del Pop. Today, also known as the Jalon Valley.

In the valley there are nine villages, each with their own culture and festivals: Alcalali, Benigembla, Benissa, Castell de Castells, Lliber, Murla, Parcent, Senija and Jalon (Xalo).

Many foreigners (especially English people) live in the Jalon Valley because of its peace and greenness on just a few kilometers from the sea and the beach. The only traffic jam you might encounter here is that of a wine farmer on its tractor who brings his grapes to one of the many bodegas of this area.

The Jalon Valley is considered one of the most beautiful areas of Spain. Especially in January and February when the almond trees throughout the valley are transformed into a sea of white and pink blossoms. The valley is also known for its vineyards and bodegas that make the sweet Moscatel white, soft pink and tasty red wine. Everywhere you can taste these wines, with or without a tapa.

In Jalon village you can find a tourist office, where they like to give information (often in English) about beautiful mountain walks, the many fiestas and other local information.
